The telecom market remains challenging. Telecom operators aim to provide the best possible offering for their customers but have at same time to take care on technology evolution and equipment cost. Technology is changing fast. Investments must be taken carefully.

Especially end customer devices like ONTs which will be rolled out in large volumes represent a substantial investment (CAPEX). Naturally such devices shall be sourced for low cost per unit. Nowadays ONTs with the expected cost points can only be produced in large numbers with utilizing scaling effects – hardly achievable in Europe.

aconnic has developed a new approach to cope with these challenges. This approach we call MCTS (Managed Customized Technology Supply).

We taking responsibility for all aspects of ONT supply

The ONTs will be supplied by aconnic. aconnic is acting as the main general contractor and supplier, managing all products included in the MCTS for the duration of the life cycle.

Through the cooperation with ODMs (Original Design Manufacturers) customers can benefit from long-term experience in this segment, achieve a faster go-to-market and increased total volumes, thus enabling to reach the set targets. To secure quality and actively manage risks, project management for product certification and supply is particularly important.

We manage the ODM suppliers and take responsibility for the customization, integration and maintenance – we ensure:

One very important factor of MCTS is full cost transparency (open book).  The operator will actually see where the costs are coming from. What is the cost impact of the chipset, Memory, Power supply etc.
