The Industrial Edge Gateway iGate from aconnic offers a comprehensive solution for use in OT networks in the environment of Critical Infrastructure companies thanks to a variety of integrated security functions.
The iGate enables redundant and (IPSec) encrypted connections to be established either between two iGate devices or from one iGate to one or more central VPN units (VPN clusters). The setup is supported by the integrated Secure Zero-Touch concept and integration into the aconnic network management solution MetroIntegrator. Sensitive information is always stored in the device’s specially protected area (TPM 2.0), which is also used to authenticate the boot process as well as the installation of new software (OS) or configuration. Further this is used for other security functions to prevent unauthorized access to the device or against compromising it.
With the help of the two GbE fiber (SFP) and the three GbE RJ45 interfaces, various network scenarios can be implemented, including dual home connections to multiple VPN remote sites for high network security.
Designed as a secured industrial switch by default, the device can also be operated as a pure networking component without the security package. By adding a software license, it can be upgraded to enable IPSec encryption with optional post-quantum cryptography (PQC), effectively transforming it into a powerful IPSec/PQC encryptor.
